Contest Time

As promised, here is the except from "Mindjacker". The first person to answer these 3 questions correctly in the comment section, will get a free copy of the novel, which I will send to you.

1) What author am I referencing?
2) What is the title of the novel being referenced?
3) What is the character's name in the novel being referenced?

The next morning we got off the elevator and strolled
across the lobby toward the exit. A Lincoln Town Car was
waiting to take us to Rockefeller Center.

“Hey, look at that.” Bryce pointed at a stack of New York
Post papers, visible through the window of the gift shop. We
stopped to look at it.

ARMANI BUTCHER CAUGHT dominated the top half of
the front page in bold, black letters. The bottom half had a color
photo of a man with graying hair in handcuffs. He was smiling,
wearing a dark cashmere overcoat, and flanked by numerous
members of the NYPD.

“Poorly dressed amateur,” I said. “That will keep them
busy. Let’s go, we need to be in the front row.”

  1. This seems too obvious, but here's my shot.

    1. Michael Connolly
    2. The Lincoln Lawyer
    3. Mickey Haller

    If not, I'll try again.

    Regards, David.

P.s. Got a flash piece up at my blog if you fancy a look.

  3. Although I haven't actually read it, I'm going to guess:

    1: Bret Easton Ellis
    2. American Psycho
    3. Patrick Bateman

Thank you for the coupon. I took you up on it, even though I will probably have to read the book on my computer, which tends to be an obstacle.

    Nice contest!

  4. WE HAVE A WINNER....Seana

Seana- If you email me at spreardon81@gmail.com with the ship to address, I'll get it to you. I'll be doing a few more of these in the future. I just bought a Nook a couple weeks ago, and I'm digging it for the most part, but still prefer print books. It has saved me a few bucks, but it will take a while to pay for itself.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Great! I'll hit the email directly.

I know I'm going to have to get an ereader sooner or later. Too many books I'm interested in are only available in this format these days. Our indie bookstore is going to have to get into soon, so I'll probably wait and see what device we interface with.

    Thanks again, Sean!

Anyway, I'm always going to love a real print copy, so I look forward to this.

Glenna, hope I didn't ace you out. I really didn't think I even understood the contest and then it suddenly came to me.

  6. Seana, I didn't have a chance. I had absolutely no idea of the answer. I haven't even watched the American Psycho movie.

Also, I'm with you on the real print copy, I love holding a book in my hands.
