Thrillers, Killers -n- Chillers Closes its Doors

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the tremendous site, Thrillers, Killers -n- Chillers has closed up shop. This was a great site and hosted some terrific stories over the years. I had my first short story featured there and I still remember when Col Bury emailed me to let me know my story had been accepted. It was such a great feeling.  All is not lost however, as Davis Barber is taking the baton and hosting a new site called, Thrillls, Kills, -n- Chaos.

Big thanks to the kind and talented writers who put so much time and effort into making TKnC such a great site: Matt Hilton, Col Bury, Lee Hughes, and Lily Childs...WELL DONE!

You can check out the final TKnC post HERE and the new Thrills, Kills -n- Chaos site HERE

Liam Sweeney's @ TK-n-C

Thrillers, Killers -n- Chillers is on of my favorite sites. Editors COL BURY,  LILY CHILDS, and MATT HILTON do a tremendous job selecting the stories, which on any given day, could be in the crime, action, or horror genres. TK-n-C was the very first site where I had a short crime story published online. I will be forever thanksful for that!!!!!!!!!

Liam Sweeney's story "Dead Man's Switch" is center stage at TK-n-C HERE

News From Two of The Goodfellas

Tonight is the Irish Book Awards. Talented writer, Crime Always Pays blog host, and great friend to his fellow writers, Deckan Burke, is up for the Crime Fiction award. His post today over at CAP provides a bit of insight into what the event will be like. ABSOLUTE ZERO COOL is a tremendous novel and one of the best I have read this year. He's facing some stiff competion, but my fingers are crossed and I cannot wait to find out the results. Best of luck to one of the good guys! Details HERE

Sticking with the theme of writers who are very talented as well as nice, generous people, Col Bury posted a review of Lily Childs' MAGETA SHAMAN over at his site. Now, at face value, I would not normally read this genre, but because Col provided such an excellent review, he highly recommended it, and I know how talented Lily is as a writer, I will surely be reading it. You can check it out HERE

"Wholesale"; My Entry For Lily Childs' Friday Prediction

Over at Lily Childs blog, she hosts a 100 word flash challenge using three words she comes up with that need to be included in the story. This week the words were: Bed-chamber, Kestrel ( a bird), and Uriel ( the Archangel). Lots of talent going on over there, which you can check out HERE

So, Here's my entry, "Wholesale".

When we enter the bed-chamber, the geezer is under the covers, mumbling to the rosary wrapped around his hands. The nightcap he's wearing makes him look like Scrooge and when I tell Ronni this, she laughs, tells him, "those beads ain't gonna' work old man. Uriel's fresh out of redemption today."

He starts kissing the Cross, tears running down his face. I point toward the bird on the nightstand. It's a Kestrel, stuffed postmortem with 500K in uncut ice from Dachau jewelers. Ronni grabs it, tosses it to me, and then pushes a pillow down hard on his face.
